Marketing Stuff

StarBand offers two-way Internet access at higher speeds than conventional phone lines by 30 to 50 times. It rivals DSL download speeds anywhere in the continental USA.

Microsoft owns StarBand, and provides the ISP similar to MSN. Echostar Communications owns the Dish Network and specialize in satellite technology sales and services. Gilat Communications, a hardware specialist in the "VSAT" community, built the network for the U.S. Postal Service using the technology and hardware used in the StarBand service. They currently have signed with China to provide Internet to its remote areas.
